Steading & Co. is the journey of Alex and Symone exploring how soil, food and movement shape people's health. From a Steading in Scotland, Fife, we’re experimenting with regenerative living, studying soil biology, growing food, and helping people rebuild strong, resilient bodies.

We began this journey with a question.Why are so many people struggling, including ourselves, with health despite access to modern medicine, easily available food, gyms and nutrition advice? This question led us deeper. First into fitness. Then into food. And eventually into the soil itself.
With no plan and leaving our corporate lives behind in Canada, our focus now is on regenerative health. Connecting soil ecology, food systems, and human physiology to understand how living systems create health. Soil, food and people are not separate systems. They are one living system.

Most modern systems intervene after something breaks.
Soil is depleted, food is nutrient poor, and unfortunately people are treated symptom by symptom. Soil, food, and people's health are treated separately. In reality it's deeply connected. This is why we work from the ground up.
Health Is Not A Hack
It is the result of the right conditions. Modern health systems often start at the end of the story, when problems appear. But health begins much earlier. It begins in the soil. Beneath our feet lives one of the most complex ecosystems on Earth. Billions of microbes, fungi and organisms working together to create life. From this soil grows the food that nourishes us. That food supports cell function and supports our bodies to build muscle, bone, hormones, and immune systems.
Healthy soil → nutrient-dense food → resilient bodies.
